Another sleepless night!

Well it's been a while but I won't travel backwards.
Nights are getting harder and harder to get a good nights sleep. Worries and concerns! I guess I may as well get my knitting out.
If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook you know that I was having a heck of a time working out the Nightshift shawl by Andrea Mowry.  I think I was having a mental block...but I got it now. I'm not going to say it's perfect as there are plenty of mistakes. I'm good with that.

A friend and fellow hooker has had this wool cutter hidden away in her basement. She brought it to our group to see if anyone could shed some light on it. It's made by LH, Biggs but that's all we know. It has cutter heads that resemble the Bliss cutter so curious if they are interchangeable.  I did find a blog post from Saundra of Woodland Junction wool cutter where she was comparing the different ones but didn't have much on this one. I hope someone out there can help.
Roomie and I spent a few days at Winter Garden Hook-in in Freeport, Me. What a fun time. It was great to see old friends and meet new ones. There were about 70 women working on gorgeous rugs. Too many to name. I grabbed a UFO that I started a few years ago and worked on that.

Had a Double Date last Saturday night with our friends Jill & Peter. Had dinner reservations for one of the gondolas at the Kennebunkport Inn . What a fun time .

That's it for now....gotta put this yarn down and get these tired eyes to sleep.
Bon soir and thanks for stopping In. Drop me a note to let me know you were here. Till the next time.

  1. Back before FB I was on a Rughookers group via Yahoo which spoke about that type cutter. Seems to me they were still being produced at that time but don't recall whether they were compatible with Bliss and Fraser or not. Post a picture of it on FB "Out of Hand Rug Hookers group" and perhaps someone can help you.
I like the gears hooked project started and can empathize with you on the knitting situation. I knitted sweaters, hats and ponchos for many years and tried to teach myself how to knit socks and finally gave up. You are thriving tho, good for you.

  2. Hi Donna, I hope that you can find some information on that cutter. You may check with Seaport Rug Hooking and they may be able to tell you if the Bliss cutting wheels fit that machine. I have a Bliss cutting machine and the wheels look like the ones to fit the L.H. Gibbs rug rag cutting machine.

The Bliss wheels sells for $65.00. Good luck.

  3. Such beautiful knitting. Not one of my skills for sure. About all I can do is cast on...lol!
That multi day hook in sounds wonderful. I have been enjoying it thru Cathy. I didn't realize it was that large a gathering.
Good to see a post from you ;-)

  4. Good to see a post from you. I can empathize with your sleep issues. Your shawl is lovely. Knitting is not one of my talents. ~Robin~
