What a nice surprise!

Hello...and welcome.
Did you get your tea? I'm starting off with coffee so sit and enjoy with me.

I just love this little owl picture. I think it's a card but not sure. Do you think it would make a nice hooked piece. Will definitely give it more thought.

 TUESDAYS LADIES!
Yes, we've gathered a wonderful group of ladies that get together to hook, share ideas, help in color planning, offer tips that we found helpful.
We have about 6 to 10 of us that come on a weekly basis and a welcome anyone who is interested. Tuesdays from 12 to 4 and a $5 donation.
If anyone is interested please feel free to contact me for more info.

Icy cold water and snow in our future I noticed as I sat watching, this yellow tailed hawk sitting on our rail. He sat for the longest time. He would turn his head and look toward me as though he could see me. As I looked through my scope our eyes met. It makes me wonder what made him turn around to look at me from I side..

Happy to say that Mr M is recovering very well. He is loyal to his physical therapy and exercises and walks daily.
Yes he even got me to join him!
I enjoy getting lost in pictures like this!
So peaceful!

So here's the story. Mr M likes cornbread I on the other hand do not. Probably because I have never made it where it came out good. He found a box of Krusty's and decided to try it. I told him that he should make it. It turned out delicious. He may have just earned the title of Cornbread chef.

About this nice surprise that came in the mail on Saturday.
A wonderful gift from our neice. So thoughtful!
2 bars of homemade soaps and candle. So pretty and beautifully wrapped with fresh flowers and eucalyptus leaves, oranges and cinnamon. Just fabulous.
I decided to stage it and placed it all on knit cotton face cloth. I will hold on to the greens and try some echo dying.

Ok so thanks for sitting here for this lengthy blog post.
Love your comments...so let me know you were here.

A Bien tot!

So much to be thankful for.

Welcome! Happy to be here with you.

Well, Thanksgiving has come and gone and I must say I have so very much to be thankful for.

Family: my husband, my daughter with husband and twin grandchildren, my son with his 3 daughters. Love them all so much.

I am thankful for this wonderful place where I live. Also for great friends that I've made in the

"rug hooking" world. they are so dear to my heart.

Our Thanksgiving was like no other. It started with watching the Macy's Day Parade. Then kicked up our feet and watched plenty of football as i also worked on my knitting. We never changed out of our pj's till later in the day. Why? Not sure as we didn't do anything different. Hubby is now on antibiotics for an infection that's been coming on. He should feel better soon.

Can this be considered a Thanksgiving rug? or is it just a chicken rug...rooster?

Today hubby wanted to treat me..so this is what my lunch was. Yummy! Much Appreciated.

Well i will cut this short..Thank you so much for taking time out of your day and being here with me.

Be sure to let me know you were here...love to read your comments/

A Bientot!

Ps..

Finally working on a Christmas rug (gift) from last year. I am loving it!

There's a chill in the air!

 MULTI-TASKING

Or is it that I have a hard time focusing on just one thing?
Sunday..fun day..football...baking...knitting...and with headphones on watching a YouTube on wet felting a clutch purse. If it peaks your interest head on over to wet felting a clutch purse. Very interesting and so many more projects.

Below are a few inspirations for hooked rug patterns.

Oops! Not sure what happened here!

Chill in the air for sure and that results in a pot of homemade chicken stew with homemade artisan French rolls.

Another idea for a rug mat. Yeah?

Who knew there were cranberry bogs here in Wells, Me. Oh wait I think it's actually on the line in Kennebunk.  What a great little store they have with a small meat market and lot's of baked items made on the premises by the owner. Cranberry breads, chicken pot pies and much more. Can't wait to go back and checkout their bogs. Who knew?!

These next 2 photos are a couple more ideas to ponder.

This is my favorite book. I love making bread and this has the best recipes.

My daughter is hosting Thanksgiving and loves to have homemade breads and rolls. I will let this batch rest in the fridge for a few days. I will also make a loaf of anadama. (My personal favorite)

So, have I told you how I HATE holidays!?
If we could bring back holidays of the past with all the craziness.  But family all together! Need I say more!

Gotta run! Thank you for allowing me to vent.
A Bien tot!
I look forward to your comments.

Ps. Excuse this crazy blog post as I'm working on a new laptop.

check out these pages on Instagram listed under my Labels. on your right.
Also #luloumakes is a very talented rug designer that I hope to meet some day.

Hope to see my fellow hookers on Tuesday...it's been a while.

Its been quite a ride!

Hey! Remember me?

53 Years and counting!

Welcome!

I set my knitting down made a drink and now ready.  It has been a very busy summer with a lot of family and friends we spent quality time with. Don't get me wrong we loved every minute of it but not going to lie we were beat!  Of course, As soon as winter arrives, we'll be wishing they were around.

Mr. MR is doing great. He was released from his in-house pt and went to a couple of therapy sessions but after 4 they told him he didn't need them any longer. He is loyal to his exercise regime, when he over does it his new knee talks to him!! He gets a little impatient.

Hooking is going strong. I was able to organize a "Day of Hooking" at our local Senior Center. What a great time! My only regret was I would like to have invited many more hookers and truly apologize to those who were left out. Nex one will have a few more attending. Yes, we were able tie down a date for Oct. 2023!

At this point jump on over to Roomie's blog  Acornhollow.blogspot.com She mentioned this on her page with lots of pictures.

Wooly Witches of Wells! Great name don't you think?

My helpers.

Dayle, Cathy, Bonnie and me.

A couple of happy attendants

Plenty of goodies. Great idea from Mim to have a potluck and that way we could avoid too many of the same dishes.

There was a wonderful display of hooked rugs by some very talented "hooker". You may recognize some of their names.

Grace Collette

Janis Ricker and Dot Bickford hooked the same pattern and how nice to see the difference.

Cathy from "Acorn Hollow" hooked the top one..Fox.  The others below from Rose Raymond.

"Welcome" by me. The pirate I like to refer to as Jonny Depp was hooked by Dayle Young. the next was hooked by Pat Laska....(I hope)

More from Rose Raymond

Hookers busy at work!

Now about the ride we've been on. This past Monday Mr. MR and I celebrated our 53rd anniversary. I don't even know what to say about that. It all started in a bar on a Friday night. Who knew that after knowing together for 3 months we'd be married. I know what you're thinking but you're wrong. There have been lot's of ups and downs on this road but I would not change one thing about it. Loved him the minute I layed eyes on him and love him more today.
Our week celebration ended with me having an acute reaction to an antibiotic that was prescribed that on Friday morning. I was transported to the hospital via ambulance after 2+ hours of vomitting. Today is Sunday and i am now starting to feel better.

Well thank you so much for being here with me.
I so appreciate your visit/

A Bientot!

Now 3 weeks have passed!

Welcome! So happy you could stop by. Tea time....I hope that being here and reading this blog brings you to a peaceful place and brush your stress away if only for a short time.

Yes 3 weeks has passed and MR is doing amazingly well. His in home PT will come to a close but will head over to the out patient therapy. Like I've said he's walking quite a bit and even venturing out around the house. He has a lot of safe places that he can go to. Oh! He was also able to practice using his stationary bike. Just about time to move the twin bed back up stairs. Quite an accomplishment but not surprising. He's not one to sit idle. He is faithful with his exercises and that is key. Way to go MR! Love you.
RECONCILIATION
Have you been glued to the TV? Since the first word of Queen Elizabeth's passing I can't tear myself away...so sad but what a wonderful long life she's had. Such a gracious queen with love to share. The word reconciliation has surely been mentioned many many times. Here's hoping that she gets her wish for her family. How wonderful to see them all together .....it pulls at my heartstrings. So important to reconcile our differences with those we love and those around us. I say that with a heavy heart ♥. Looking forward for what's the future brings.
This is a short blog....but I thank you for joining me.
Lot's happening in the upcoming weeks but hope to be back with you soon.
Let me know you we're here.....and love your comments.
A Dieu.....till the next time.

What,  summer is over!???!! No it can't possibly be because when I went for groceries today the store was packed! People everywhere! Actually I think this is the second round of tourists the older ones that don't have little ones to tote around. The next group will be the leaf peepers! Then it will be those that want to join in on the fun at "Prelude". WELCOME to MAINE!

So hey thanks for checking in....let's chat a bit!
Fall is in the air....pumpkins are starting to show up.....leaves are falling and so are the acorns. My Roomie over at ACORNHOLLOW mentioned in her blog that acorns will be abundant this year. I hear that also and think it means we'll have a very cold and snowy winter. Grr!  But what to do with all these acorns? I read that acorns can be used as a dye and they are a natural mordant. Some of you rug hookers may be aware of this and I may be last to know!
https:/fiderartsy.com and Mother Earth News has very interesting articles on the subject. Check them out and if you decided to dye some fabric, cotton or wool check back in and let me know how it turned out. Also used are rhubarb both leaves or stalks and black walnuts. I know where to get a bunch.

Today makes 2 full weeks since MR had his surgery.  I have to tell you I am truly amazed and happy at his progress. He walks around the house on his own and is able to bend his knee more and more everyday. He was able to walk over next door and spent some time out on the deck. Getting comfortable at night and sleeping has been a bit better. I made him a small this pillow that he can use for sleeping. And look where I found him on Sunday?
Yup that's right...out in his work area. No cane in sight! Instead of playing Where's Waldo let's play Where's the Cane! Lol. He had his 2 wk follow up and the PA says he's ready to hit the gym for pt. Happy Days!

That's it for today....the sun is up and I may get another paddle in...

Thanks again for stopping in.....be sure to let me know you were here...drop me a comment...love hearing from you. I so appreciate all the comments.
A Dieu...till we meet again.

Patience vs Patient

In looking back I can't  believe it's been that long since we've enjoyed a cup of tea together....shame on me!  My hope is that you have not abandoned me.
I do enjoy chatting with you (s) and appreciate your feedback. Stick around I'll share a bit of what's been happening.....

Summer started with a bang....had the company of my sisterhood....you know the "hookers".  Hehehe don't you love that? We're good at what we do but don't make much money. Such a great time...lots of talking...sharing...laughs, eating
great food. Crafting with embroidery,  Watercolors, jewelry wrapping and working with fimo...lots of fun stuff.
Family and friends were here for the next few weeks. Always a great time.
It's been a hectic summer.
Mr M. has not been doing so well.... knee problems that also was affecting his back and he'd been hesitant about going for the surgery.
The time is now. A full knee replacement  scheduled on Monday the 22nd .  After a few hours he returned to recovery where he was sitting up and eating...

Surprised the hell out of me...I anticipated him being all drugged up and out of it. Before he could leave they had him up and walking (with walker) and even claimed 5 steps...up and down...then he was good to go.

The procedure was performed with the Mako robotic system.....What?! That's not what a wanted! I was thinking more along the lines of a 20 to 25 foot center console fishing boat, Mako...but he says nomore boats..oh well I'll settle for this for now! Lol.
So today makes a week and he has greatly improved....he's walking and using his knee not just dragging it...climbing stairs ready to start with a cane.

This is the part where the "patient" is being cared for by Me..aka Nurse Ratchet.
"Patience " is not his strong suit!  I on the other hand is trying to have patience.
Awe...not really...but he sure going to owe me big time! Lol

Today I got myself a little gift...I think I deserved it.

I bought these 3 little air plants.."bromeliad" to add to my others. How cute are these....as you can see the pink one has a flower and the other has great color on the leaves. They look great IMO in this handmade pottery pot my SIL made me in 1993. Wow!

That's all for now...I hope to be back to you soon...
Till the A Bientot.

Hearts all around with lots of LOVE.

Happy Day to you all! I'm a bit late with these wishes.... hope your day was sweet. Hubby still not up and about much so when I was out ...
