Melancholy!

                       Isles of Shoals
                                Star Island
One of 9 islands off the coast of NH and Maine. Names such as:
*Thomas Laighton
*Celia Laighton Thaxter
*John Greenleaf Whittier
* The Weight of Water by Anita Shreve Just to name a few. If you're interested in knowing  more do research these names along with other islands such as : Star,  Appledore, Smuttynose and White Island. Enjoy your research.

The light is a bit dimmer....with the current clossure or should i say postponement. Star Island has decided not to open this year along with many others. We will not be attending our conference in September with what rould have been our 5th year. Those of you who know me know how special this is to me. This is magical, meaningful, spiritual island so rich in history. In these past years I've been so fortunate in making wonderful new friends. Memories that i will cherish. So until we meet again.

On another sad note our Stay at home order has been extended another month.
This has been a difficult week. I'm looking forward to the sunshine to flowers in bloom. I did find some joy in seeing buds on my gifted hydrangea.  A new and special friend  brought me last summer.
Now that is a happy sight.
This next picture is for Miss A as she loves this plant. Thinking of you♥️
Bleeding Heart will open soon.
Thank you again for spending time with me. I so appreciate you.
So...till the next time.

I'm back.....with a confession!

Happy Sunday!
Thank you for stopping by hope you can stay a while. This day started with sunshine and a warm breeze. Cleaned out a small patch in the garden...actually the garden is pretty small so it doesn't take up much time. Wow then the temperature dropped...i think they are predicting snow!!! That's enough of winter!
My confession.....I'm concerned I could he drinking too much!! Started out every night with a glass of wine then moved on to a Gin & Tonic! 1 glass led to 2!! My taste buds are very happy! What do you think...is that too much?
My hubby surprised me! He ordered my Birthday present and it will be here on Thursday. He knows its early but didn't want to wait.!!! I'll have such a good time with it this summer. Hope my buddy MMcT will join me.!
How cute is this little hanging planter?
Took some cutting from my "orchid cactus" and wandering jew. I plan on sharing this with Jess. I think she'll enjoy these. I love when that orchid blooms...the flowers are gorgeous.

I did start painting those rocks i mentioned in my last post andvyes Jill the "foot" was the rock you found for me. Thanks. I found a 3rd rock I'll have fun with. Surprise and i think you'll like it.

We've come to the end of this post. Time to hit the liquor cabinet!! Hehe!
Thanks for joining me. Hope you enjoyed it.
I see i've gained a couple more followers and comments! I sure do appreciate that...thank you so much.
Until our next visit..

Not Much Accomplished .

What can i say.....the truth of it is i didn't get much done. I planned on getting some hooking done on my risers...but had no motivation. Yesterday late afternoon i sat and enjoyed a cup of my favorite tea. Like "My Hooker" cup? Yeah I do too..it was gifted from that special lady over at  Acorn Hollow.
It was warm and sunny the other day
passed by another sign of spring popping out from the leaves and dead grass. What a coincidence I'm posting this picture aling with my tea.
I was thinking I'd look for rocks that i vould paint.....and voila!
Do you see what I see? Hopefully I'll be back to you with that soon.
A few years ago I attended a knitting class to make wool clogs.
Gosh! I think that was 9 years ago! Time flies......anyhow i made them , felted them and a few years later decided  they needed a little detail. I threw in some needle felting. Yay! They're sooo warm. This week I decided to give them a cleaning....holy crap....it took 4 days out in the sun and the wind to get them dry. I didn't like being without them.
I might have to consider making another pair.
The End!
Great having you here...thank you for stopping in. I sure hope to hear from you....comments are always welcomed.
A Bientot!

Sunday.....Sunday!

What a beautiful day!  Finally got out of the house for a walk and much needed fresh air. And yes it sure did soothe the soul.

Amazing once again how many summer residents were around
only for the weekend. I feel bad as i'm sure they're anxious to be here.
These sure are challenging times for all of us.
Unfortunately the town has had to place these jersey barriers at every public way as people are not following the guidelines.

Signs of spring are popping up everywhere. I was able to capture of few. The bright yellow forsythia is always a welcome sight.

I found this really cool app called
PlantSnap
where you take a photo of the plant send it over to this app and it identifies
the plant for you. I was so excited to use it.
Oh! And they have a FB page as well.
There you can join the plant chat comunity.

Here is a picture of the plant i wanted to identify.

Ornithogalum aka Sun Star
or Star of Bethlehem.
Information of how to care for water, feed,
and plant. I can see that this will come in handy.
From there I decided to get my camera out and play around shooting pics
of flowers I have around the house.

So that kept my busy for a couple hours.
Happy!

Well I'll call myself a "copycat" because my girl over @acornhollow is at it again.  Baking up a storm making dinner rolls.  Damn she's good...they looked amazing! I made the mistake of showing them to hubby and his comment was "gee you never make those for me!"😩
That was it! Can't let her one up on me!
French Bread Rolls.
Yumm! Oh shit! Did i say i was on a diet?! ....Next week! Hee.
OBTW! I'm thinking this could be my next challenge.
I may have to give this a little more
Thought.
Again thank you for being here with me..sorry it's a bit lengthy but hope you enjoyed the read. Hope to hear from you as always i look forward to your comments.

A BIT TOO MUCH!

Gosh how do i start this post. I am truly overwhelmed not only with what's going on around us but what is near and dear to me and fam. I pray for a safe and happy outcome. My heart is being torn apart.😢 I apologize for being so vague but i needed this. Now on another note
My husband recieved word this week that an acquaintance turned close friend has passed away. He took his own life! We are all in a state of shock! So many questions...so little understanding! We are so saddened by this news and we keep his family in our thoughts. RIP friend!

oh look here...i am back to making cards. I hope to be selling them soon or perhaps even taking orders.
Watercolors are challenging for me. So unsure of how much or how little water should be on my brush.  Should i start with dry paper or wet papper? Its such an adventure. I have to say  i'm quite pleased with the results. I am following a few artists on YouTube and Instagram. "#creationsceecee is wonderful.  When she's doing a tutorial and not speaking her music is so comforting and relaxing.  Instantly puts me in a better place.
Below is Ceecee's latest creation...i wiil give this a try also...i love the simplicity and circle and dot doodles.
                     RUG HOOKING
                 APPLIQUE  FABRIC
I recently came upon this wonderfully talented lady on Facebook.
DIANE COLLINS TOBIAS @TheVelvetHOOK.COM.
OH MY! Please hop on over snd checkout her website or her Facebook page.  Her Velvets are gorgeous and her dyeing is beautiful. I mentioned to her this morning that i would like nothing better than to jump in a big pile of her fabric.
Take a look at these....yummy. These would fit perfectly in my Coastal stair risers.
A much needed walk to catch a breath of fresh air today. A bit chilly but the sun is bright.
The sight of fresh buds is welcoming.

Once again thank you so much for being here with me. I appreciate you're stopping by. I look forward to your comments.
Stay safe and healthy ...and to my kids..I Love You and am always here for you.
A Bientot.

Giving It A Rest!!!

Yes, i'm giving Miss Pfaff a rest...she's been running pretty much non stop these past couple of days. I could hear her start to "groan" and i know what was coming next.  She would be quite defiant and just stop. So before tgat happens...gonna give her some much needed time off. Shh....nite nite.
I will return to you later...do not fret.
After some sort of organization i decided its time to jump on the Hooker train. We've not had our Friday Hooker's group so i need to get going on my risers.
"Coastal Stars and Stripes" and
"Under Sea Horses"
I've completed 2 of them and now working on a couple more.
I feel i should call the top one "Jaws " and the other "Sheep on the Beach".
All my gratitude goes to a very special friend who designed them for me. I love each and every one of them...12 in all! Wow! I have my work cut out for me.
A belated Joyeux Paques! to you and your families. A very quiet one indeed.
Still doing our best to keep everything as germ/virus proof as possible. Like all of you i pray this ends soon. I am so anxious to wrap my arms around all my grands...my son and daughter and "J" and of course be with my "Woolie" friends again.
With that said Thank You so much for being here today. I appreciate your visit and look forward to your comments. ♥️
A Biento...and stay safe!😷

Fickle Friend

Well Hello there! I'm back and want to tell you about my new friend (s). It seems i spend lots of time with them in fact you could say All Day. From the time i get out of bed and make my bed i grab Ms "L" and spray my blankets and pillows down. I pass through the living room with her in tow and spray down the sofa snd chairs down. Oh! But wait....you might say i'm a bit fickle because now when i get to the kitchen and bathroom i fall for another "friend"....
That's right! Let's call him Mr C....damn he makes me feel good!
Get going and wipe everything down.
Why am i fickle....cause damned if i can make up my mind which of these friends is my favorite.!!!!

So did someone say puzzle? My "Roomie" over at Acorn Hollow mentioned that she got one for her hubby to keep him busy....what a great idea. I then remembered that a cousin gifted us one. I too that eould keep my hubby busy....see above....then
2 days later......fini! Damn that was quick and i have to say a lot if fun.
I'm still sewing sewing up face masks and also headbands that help save the ears when wearing the masks.  They are going to family and friends working in the medical field.

Just got word that a very special friend has been diagnosed with the coronavirus! Be with me and pray that its a very mild case and recovery is quick. 😷😷🙏
That's it for now....thank you for stopping in...i do appreciate your visits and look forward to comments.
We're all in this together ...so stay safe.
A Bientot.

STAY HOME venting

Can i start off by saying how upset i am right now!!!!! I need to vent. I find it so upsetting to see how people are not taking this serious. Last week our Governor issued a warning for summer residents to please stay home...no need to check on your cottages..stay home snd stay safe! If its essential that you do then itd required that you self quarantine for 14 days. Well damn it i have not been out of the house for weeks now and i am generally a "rule breaker" but this shit is serious!!! But no here they come....up here for a couple of nights..out playing in the yard..kayaking...going to the store and then back home!! They are bright educated people! Damn i'm glad i never went to college....i don't want to be as smart as them!

Ok so enough for that rampage. We are all in this together. Frustration building and emotions running high for all of us. I love my husband but i'm ready to see someone else...my kids, my Grandchildren..my FRIENDS!!! Yesterday i hit a wall...my hubby said it was nice out i said "NO its NOT! ...he said the shy is blue i said No its Gray! You get my drift right. And if this lasts any longer he'll  have me re arranging my cabinets and drawers like his! Wow! That's not gonna happen!
This makes me a a bit happier.
And this.
I am still sewing up a storm....masks, headbans and an attempt at scrub caps
OH! And if this shit keeps up.
you got it....i won't fit through the door TO get out!🤪
Taking a break from sewing and doing some painting...making cards to send to try to bring a smile on friends faces.
Well...thanks so much for being here with me...please come back i do look forward to your comments.
Love you guys and Stay Safe!
A Bientot!
Ps....i promise not to vent in my next post!🥰😷

More Sewing!

Another day making masks.  I had a handful of really cute fabric i thought would work well. The nautical theme fits the bill. I had this lobster  fabric that i had to have but didn't know what I would do with it...these masks are perfect...fun. Then i realized i only had "girlish" fabric. I found some male themed pattern....more suitable for the boys.
Just right....my little "Gecko" buddy will love this.
Aside from sewing i am still doing some painting with watercolours...really enjoying the results.
It seems i haven't been out of the house in weeks...no wait i did sit on the back deck tge other day...sun shining and nice and warm.
Grocery shopping done this morning by hubby...no! I'm not ready to venture out in public yet so i am grateful he's happy to do it. But wait!!!! What?!!!
Thats right 2 tubs of ice cream yup 2!
Clearly he does not think i'm fat enough! Yikes. I read a cute little bludb the other day..."instead of sitting around in our jammies and no bras...we should be wearing our bathing suits"..that might be a deterrent from spending time snacking!!!!
Well i'm off to do some painting.
Thanks so much for being here...
Hope you enjoy and return soon.
Stay Home and stay healthy!

Not Going to Over think it!

So much going on right now. Not really. Hello! Welcome! Happy you're here. I guess you could say I'm not a dedicated blogger..howeve...
