More clothesline rope bowls n stuff......

Thought I'd be back here a little sooner but time just seems to escape me. I recently visited a new art studio and took a class with a friend. We made "ice resin pendant" artnightout.com and had a great time. I didn't get a chance to take a picture of the actual pendants I made but did take some of the studio.
Here she is Miss Lydia....we had a great time and met some real nice people.

www.seedsstudio.com.
Here are some other photos. There are some beautiful "torn paper art" and I think the artist is Wanda Edwards. I think I'd love to try this technique.

Seeds is a great studio and the owner Colleen is very nice....

I'm not sure what's going on with the post here but i can't seem to control how to do a lay-out.
I also want to show you more rope bowl projects.
Here is one that my friend Cheryl made. Love it....I may try making one myself.

Now how cute is this?! Very clever idea. I also like the loop knot at the top.

Placemat and coasters.

This is my latest project. This one will go in my bedroom for whatever I decide to throw in it. Since my room is purple...I think it'll go well.
Gosh I'm tired tonight.....just not been feeling myself these last couple of days. Hope I'm not coming down with something..
I guess that's it for now....so...
till we meet again....have a good one!

Clothesline rope bowls............

Here I am finally. I'm not sure if I've not had anything to blog about or just that it's been too darn hot and humid. I don't remember the heat bothering me as much as it does now. I guess it's my age.....yikes, did I just say that!!! Oh well.
We've been spending lot's of time on the beach and going in the ocean ....the water temperature has been wonderful here in Maine. You can actually go in and swim around without your ankles going numb. Very enjoyable. Also my daughter's been enjoying the beach with us and that's so nice as we geet to enjoy our little buddies. Gosh! they love the beach. Brings back so many fond memories of when my kids were little. Happy thoughts!

Another batch of "Tufa" was made and is still curing. I'll be planting them soon. I've also sold a few that were placed in a little gift shop here. I may just bring over a few more. Where it's been so hot I've opted to do more inside stuff so I made a few coiled clothesline bowls. The first ones I made were for the grandkids back at Easter and they turned out to be Easter Purses to use inplace of Easter baskets......here they are.

The fabric used to cover the clothesline was the remaining fabric from the quilts I made them. They looked so cute carrying them around. And from what I understand they also use them regularly. I love it. The flowers were also made with left-over fabric.

After that I decided to sew the clothesline without being wrapped in fabric. I love the natural look it gives. So I made up a couple of bowls.

I like the shape of this one....and decided to add the little handles. This project is still in it's early stage....it's all trial and error.
So to go along with this I added a set of 6 coasters. I think some cute paper napkins would also be nice.

For this bowl I chose to add a little square not band to make it a little naughtical. This can be used as a chip or pop-corn bowl.

I hope you like them and I get some feedback. Would love to hear what you think.

I guess that'll be all for now as I'm getting a bit tired. I'll try to get some pics of the newest tufa pots.
Hope you all stay cool and till the next post.............................have a good one.

Life is Good....................

Living on the coast of Maine is living life at it's best. As you can see I've been real busy.
That's right.....and it does not get any better than this. Taking the Kayak out these last couple of days has been so relaxing. Last night was the best.....so quiet. Not to mention the sights along the river.

This picture above is the back side of Billy's Chowder House..What an amazing view. I was on the northen side looking down. the water was so calm.
Now the rest of these pictures I think say it all.

Wonderfully serene. At some point I might get back to doing something constuctive but for right now.....this is it.

This was taken today...mid day. Gotta love living by the water and having all of this in your own back yard. Life is Good!

Well that's it got now................Good night...till the next time.
Wish you all a great 4th of July..................

Bubble wrap.....

First off today I want to share this clip with all of you. I found this on my facebook page and I loved it.           This is ME!

So what do you guys think?
Again, today was a crappy day so I didn't get to plant any of my pots. I hope that I get a chance to do some tomorrow.

In the meantime I'd like to share some of them with you.

These are the ones I made. The one with the bird is a bird bath that will be a gift. Hope they like it. The one next to it has some beach glass added to it, my first..and hope the glass stays on. I made some small "pinch pots". I like these and think they'll look really cute planted.

These pots are some of Cheryl's creations. Can you see the detail on the rectangle trough? That's right....she used some bubble wrap in the form. Gosh! It came out so nice and can't wait to see this one with some plants in it. Yup! That's gonna be my next try.
This last one has my mushroom with some of my other pots sitting on the lobster (lobstah) trap. Not sure about this. The Faire was a gift from a good friend. I love it.

That's it for today.........hope it was a good one!
Till the next time.................................

Tufa fountain.........

Wow! How hot was it this week! I think as I get older the heat and humidity bother me more and more. But today after the thunder storm that came through it turned a little more comfortable. Much better.
This past week we finally got out there and picked up all our products for our next Tufa pots. But we didn't get around to makeing them as we spend too much time fiddling around going to local garden centers. But the following day we got right on the job.
This time we bought Portland Cement without any sand or aggragate. That's really what the original recipe calls for at TheArtisticGardener theartisticgardener . We liked the way it seemed to be a lot more workable. Pictures of this new batch will be coming up soon. They are still in the curing phase right now but hope to get some shots of them tomorrow. Might even have some "planted"...who knows.
Because I don't have pictures I thought I would post a pic of the new project that Cheryl worked on. She made a Tufa fountain....that's right....very creative.
So how cute is this? That's the water shooting out at the top. She also added the bird at the top. Very clever isn't she?

This is all for tonight..hope to get some pictures for you tomorrow....
So until then......................

Happy Father's Day.....

Still trying to recover from the weekend that was very busy but sooo nice. Started out by celebrating the 2nd birthday of my favorite "little Munchkins". The party went so well and got to see some good friends. Also loved watching the kids interact with new friends and little cousins. My daughter is simply amazing...how she finds the time to fit everything in her very busy life. She and Hubby do such a great job. After the party my son and his family came back to spend the rest of the weekend with us. It was a great Fathers Day for both Son & Dad. This picture says it all.
We got to take them all out in the boat for a boat ride. The girls were very hesitant at first but they did it. They loved the ride and the littlest one wanted the drive the boat with her Papa. What fun!

We had a great weekend.
Now is the time to get back to work. hehehe. Making Tufa pots again. We went off today to buy the products for our next projects...looking forward to making more. Have a whole bunch of new ideas. So hopefully in my next post I'll have new pictures.

I'd also like to thank all you followers and hope you stick around. I look forward to checking out all your blogs as well. Hope to make some new friends.

Have a great day................till the next time. :-)

Last potted tufa........

Today, I potted the last of my tuffa pots. I must say I think they look pretty good. The only problem now is I really don't want to get rid of them. I feel like I want to keep them all...................but of course I won't. I did give one away to some friends, R & D, so they can keep them on their deck. Here it is....

I attached a shell to the rim because I had it growing elsewhere and thought it would look nice there.

Have not been to Lowe's yet to purchase more Portland cement but we hope to this week some time. I did take a few pictures of Chery's tufa pots. We love to move them around to different spots and look at them. Such joy we get from simple things.

In this last picture the tufa in the forefront is a pinch bag that she made from a small sandwich bag. OMG I think it's the cutest thing ever. I must make one of these with my next batch.
I have a very busy week this week so not sure if we'll get to batch #4. Hubby goes for shot #3 in his back...." Little Munchkins" 2nd birthday is this weekend...and will spend the weekend with 2 of my little "Princesses" & parents....can't wait!!!!So not sure if I'll get a chance to post again....but hope everyone has a great week.
Happy Father's Day to all the Dads out there.....especially my Hubby, my Son & Son-in-Law.
Till the next time........................

ps.I hope if you're reading this you'll post a comment or follow me. Would love hearing from you and making new friends. :-)

Another summer comes to a close!

God Morning my friends! Bare with me as I have myself a little pity party. Yes, summer has come and gone once again. The summer ...
